This coin was designed in memory of Captain Spencer Long, his wife Katrina, his step son Reid, and his two sons Thayne, and Gage.
A large emphasis was made to the wildland theme, Captain Long had more wildland experience and knowledge then most will ever touch. From years as a hot shot, to time as a smoke jumper, to running engine and REMS crews with Provo Fire. Wildland was who he was. He would often say the phrase “I don’t know what Im doing, Im a wildland guy!” to which we would all get a laugh.
Above all else he was a family man. And we hope you can use this coin to remember the lives of five incredible individuals who deserve to never be forgotten.
